The Power of the Gospel
Bible Passage: 1 Thessalonians 1:5-10
I’d like for you to take the Word of God with me, please, and turn to 1 Thessalonians 1:5-10. We continue our study through the book of 1 Thessalonians. As we do, Paul has some powerful words for us as he begins the book. He has introduced himself and his traveling companions and spoken some wonderful words of encouragement to this persecuted church.
Now his attention is turned toward the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is literally the “glad tidings or good news.” It is the message of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ the Lord. Paul well understood the significance of the gospel and he was very passionate about it.
